The Latex geometry package
Often, changing the amount of text you can get on one page in Latex is a pain. Similarly, fidiling with margins can also be tricky. The geometry package makes this easier. For example, to make Latex use a bit more of the page than is does by default we can use the following code in the Latex preamble.
